Things are going just peachy. Also, lots of things have been happening, and that's peachy too.

I moved back to Victoria on Tuesday. This was a bit of a long shot, since I booked the flight (seat sale!) with no where to live, and nowhere to work. Not long after I booked the flight I heard about a friend who was suddenly and tragically roommateless. Then I heard about a job possibility. Then I found a place to stay until I found a place to live.

So, I came back. I'm staying with Jeff and Kirsten, who are well past awesome. So far they've given me food, entertainment, and plied me with beer and scotch. Tuesday evening was a pub night so I could see all my old friends. Surprisingly, even though they knew I would be there, they all came out. Turns out that people don't change all that much in six months. It was awesome to see everyone, and it made me glad I'm back. It's always a bit of a wrench moving here, I always feel like I have to choose between family and friends. I was sad to leave Rocky, all the more so since my time there this Christmas was really great. But, I had to get started on life sometime, and would have had to start working in Rocky as well.

Last night was Sherri's birthday party. It was in a nice restaurant downtown with a very impressive scotch list. They had fifteen high quality scotchs, and I got to try a Highland Park 12 year old, and Laphroig, which I've heard a lot about. Jeff let me try a sip of his Lagavulin as well.

Jeff and Kirsten have set me up a little bedroom in their living room, roping off the couch with a bookcase and sheets so I have some privacy. Today Jeff called in sick to work and we hung out all day, playing crib and watching MacGyver all afternoon.

Yesterday I had my much anticipated meeting with the Bishop. In the road toward ordination, you have to go through two advisory committees and get the Bishop's approval. The first of the committees is on the diocesan level, and I did that before I left. I had not heard how I had done, so this meeting was mostly about that. The Bishop is a great guy, really nice, and very down to earth. We actually spent more time talking about my trip then about my future. He did however give me the results from the committee meeting, and they recommended me for ordination, and said lots of really nice things about me. That was a big load off my mind, let me tell you! I have another committee meeting, this time in May, and it will be for people province wide. The Bishop said he doesn't foresee me having any trouble there either.

To add to all this good news, I have a job. I'll be working at another church office, this time for 25 hours a week, focusing on bulletin creation and reception work. I'm looking forward to it, as I like that kind of work, and it will be an interesting challenge.

Finally, I definitely have a place to live. It's just down the road from Jeff and Kirsten, and near to where I was living before. Great location, near shopping, and within walking distance to downtown and to work. So, everything is working out, and I think that there is definitely the hand of God at work here. I mean, this is more than just coincidence!
