2007-02-09 - 11:13 p.m. Whew, it's been a long time since I updated this thing. If anyone is still left out there who reads it, I'm still alive, although very much caught up in work. I've started work at the church (five days a week!) This counts as my first full time job since probably BP hired me in the summer after my third year of school. It's nice to have one job to go to instead of several. Of course, I'm still at the restaurant two shifts a week.... The church is awesome. The people there are all really nice, and very understanding of me not knowing anything. Working at the other church before I left is a huge help, as I find that I understand how things work, if not the specific way they work. My first week was a big nuts, as I had nearly finished the weekly leaflet, when they decided to change the readings. Then, it turned out, not only were there different readings, it was a solomn high mass, not a regular service. This means the Bishop would be there, and that the leaflet would be much more complicated, what with trying to include the new liturgy for the mass, but no one knowing exactly what they needed in there. I worked late a couple nights to get the thing done, but it turned out ok, and the service went well. I'm really hoping not to be spending all my time on the leaflet, as I think it is too much work for the result. Other than work things are well. I spoke at the Men's Breakfast the other week, and told the Morocco story. They loved it, and these old men keep coming up to me and chortleing "ho ho ho, you really got taken, didn't you?! Ho ho ho. Great story. Did I tell you about the time I went to Morocco? I stayed with the group. ho ho ho." So, the Morocco story continues to entertain at least.
