2007-04-07 - 1:01 a.m. It was a good birthday week this week. The big day was Monday, but I wanted to keep things pretty low key. I had to work the next day, and most of the friends are right at the end of school/ into exams. We went for supper at Ferris', which is one of the best restaurants in Victoria. They do up fries with just a hint of celery salt on them- that along with a lamb burger? Awesome. Since it was my birthday, I told everyone my Morocco story. As always, it went over well. Only Jeff had heard it before. After supper we went back to Jeff's and had a small whisky to celebrate the occasion. The next couple days at work were awful and stressful. We had so many leaflets to print! There are four leaflets, including Easter day, and Easter day alone is 1200 copies. The ladies who come into fold were really great though, and by Thursday morning we had got most of it done. I was feeling pretty good, as I skipped to work in the morning. I was looking forward to getting caught up on non leaflet related work, maybe starting to think about next week's leaflet, that sort of thing. Well, no sooner had I got there than one of the ladies showed up. Turns out that Ann had called Bettie, and told her that I forgot to include the word' resurrection' in the title. Well, we double checked, and everything looked ok. Just to be sure, I called Ann, and turns out that I had spelled the word ressurection. On all 1200 copies. They had already folded and stapled at least 900 of those. So, we had to tear out the front pages, and redo all of them. Then we found another mistake in the Good Friday leaflet. We had forgotten one of the stations of the cross. Yeah. So, we waited till the ladies had gone (I think they would have killed me if I told them about another mistake) then I redid all 175. Then, I noticed that I had folded them all inside out. It was not a good day. After work, things began to look up. It was Maundy Thursday, and that meant lamb roast. I had bought 11 pounds of lamb the day before, and Jeff and I went back to my place and started cooking. The evening was awesome. We had 14 or 15 people come, and there was tons and tons of lamb. Jeff is a great cook, and he did a really good job with the lamb. He also did roasted potatoes and steamed veggies, and I made Dad's cheese sauce (not just for macaroni anymore!). I think that everyone had fun, and we're already planning the next one! Today was a lot of church in the morning. I headed down to the Cathedral for a really good service around the stations of the cross, and then to St. G's for the service there. After church I hiked up mount Doug with Jeff and Kirsten and Jeff's family. True to her awesome form, Jeff's mom made me hot cross buns! It's Jeff's birthday next week, and Kirsten and his parents went together and bought him a Wii. So, we spent the rest of the night playing it. I love that system. It's so much fun! Good exercise too- my arms were getting sore after playing the boxing for a while!
