Wow. It’s been a while folks. If anyone even checks this poor blog anymore. I know, I know, I was going to post more often now that I’m not working etc. etc. etc. Turns out that you can be busy with more than just work. Regardless, I think I will keep this up, and try to update regularly.
Things are going well. I’ve decided to not go to school in the fall. I came back from Europe flat broke (which is the best way to come back from a six month trip) and although I’ve been industriously saving, I’d rather work for one more year than finish up with tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt. Luckily for me, the Cathedral has agreed to keep me on for another year. They actually seemed really excited to have me stay, which was gratifying. I spoke to the Bishop about it, and he said that it would be ok to wait. He’s pretty cool though, when I told him part of the reason I was thinking of waiting was because I’m still fairly young, he fixed me with a steely look and inquired “and what is wrong with that?” Turns out he went to school at 23. All the same though, I think a year of earning and experience would be pretty good for me. It’s a bit odd though, and I’m having trouble getting my head around the fact that I know where I’ll be in a year. This hasn’t been the case in a long, long time. All through university, I had no idea where I would be in a years time, and all of a sudden I’m sort of settling down. Some people are born to be rolling stones, but I get the feeling that I’m developing into one.
The weather is finally getting nice. It’s actually hot out, which just makes me want summer, and the family houseboating trip. Although, as summer approaches, and brings with it the one year anniversary of leaving for Europe I wish I could be back there. I have a feeling that for the next six months it’ll be a lot of “a year ago I was in…..” probably to the point of annoyance.
