I made it safely through the mountains, and even across the water, and I'm now in Victoria where it's warm and sunny, and feels like summer. It's like the quasi winter of Alberta is nothing but an unseasonably chilly memory.

I drove out from Alberta- my parents were awesome enough to loan me a truck for the summer, so that I can get me and all my stuff from Vancouver to Barkerville (well, actually to Welles, which is the town I will be staying in) and back. And so I'm not stuck in Welles when I'm not actually working. The truck is a big old ninety eighty something Ford. It's huge, and horrible on gas, and I love it. Dad and I spent last week fixing it all up, and it's in good shape.

I spent a couple days in Kelowna on the way back, planting trees for Grandma. It was nice to be out in the garden, the weather was just right for a little digging and planting, and the backyard looks really good now.

Then it was back to Vancouver and time to move out. I had to clean to, which I really hate doing, but I got it all done in time to get to the Island last night and get to Kirk's place to watch the Canucks nearly lose the first game of round two.

Now the weekend will consist of I don't know what, except that I'm hoping to hit St. George's on Sunday morning. Other than that, it's just going to be a fun sunny weekend in the greatest city on the south Island!
